What is counselling?
Counselling is an opportunity to be listened to – an active form of listening that is non-judgemental and empathetic. Coming to counselling may be the first time you have ever really been heard and seen for who you are, which can be an extremely empowering and healing experience.
It’s a time for you – to explore what is bothering you, to help find coping strategies and to find clarity and understanding.
Counselling is not about being given advice or being told what to do – you’re in the driving seat, you’re in control, you set the pace. As your counsellor I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore personal issues and emotions. It is a place where you are validated and treated with dignity and respect – I see it as an almost sacred space.
